In general, if the rest of the roof is fairly new and in good shape a simple repair can be accomplished, especially if it just requires the replacement of a few shingles. Please note that due to age and dye lot differences, new shingles even of the same type and color can stand out from the existing shingles and you may notice the difference.

In most cases, yes. However, much like shingles, age/weathering and color differences may be apparent with a patch.

The answer is it depends. It depends on your policy, the age of the product and how much of the existing materials have been affected. In some cases, insurance may only cover the cost of repairs. However, if large sections such as whole sides of the house or the majority of the roof is damaged a complete replacement may be approved. It is always best to call your insurance company and also request a visual inspection by a trusted contractor (like us).
