The Brad Humphrey Project - Indianapolis IndianaRead about Brad's story on his Caring Bridge page HERE
On Saturday August 13, 2011 seventeen year old Brad Humphrey’s life changed. What started out as a fun night at a concert held at the Indiana State Fair Grounds ended with many life ending and life changing tragedies when a fierce storm toppled the stage down upon the front rows. Brad was in those front seats. And Brad is now wheel chair bound.
After an intensive and grueling hospital stay, Brad is learning to cope with the daily obstacles to his new wheel chair life. Although Brad has been released from the hospital, he can’t go home because the home where he and his mother Sue live is anything but “wheel chair friendly”. In fact it’s just plain not accessible- at least not yet. Gettum Associates Inc. has offered to participate in a fast track re-design and re-construction of Brad & Sue’s existing house so Brad can finally go home. A few minor odds, ends and finishing touches remain, but Brad and his mother were able to begin moving back in to their home prior to Thanksgiving! With the help of many, our goal was reached! Thank you to everyone who made this project possible. Please take a look at the project pictures and the list of donors for the project.
The Brad Humphrey project would not be possible without the many labor, material and cash donations from companies big and small and many individuals. Thank you for your generosity!
