Keeping faithful to the cute cottage style look of this Indianapolis home was very important to our clients as we planned the changes and expansions. Everyone agreed that we didn’t want the added space to look like it “just landed”.
It turned out that the old U-shaped kitchen space was just right for a main floor laundry room right off the newly covered back door entry. A modest bump out of the old dining nook exterior walls allowed the expanded kitchen space to include a breakfast bar top and be outside the main traffic loop. The old “bay style” of the original dining space was recaptured but expanded for additional seating and views to all the first floor gathering spaces.
