The decision to “Move or Improve” became an easy one once they checked out the market to duplicate the setting. Our task was to develop a plan that expanded the sightlines, blended the existing spaces with the new one’s and allowed the cook to rejoin the rest of the family.
Our final design expanded the little eat-in bay to become a large centrally located casual dining space. The new nook now connects to a new great room area with raised ceilings and a large box window to bring in the treed views out back.

The screened porch was relocated and enlarged. There are skylights to reduce the darkening effect on the nook and existing formal dining room.
